Ever since we moved to our large villa house a year ago we have been blessed to house many teams of missionaries who stop by our place in Beijing in favor over staying at a hotel. We love meeting new volunteers and missionaries and hearing their stories as they stop by before a flight home. Since we are long term in China we are fairly limited in what we can do in regard to spreading the Gospel, but the short term teams that come can be much bolder, which makes some members in the family jealous! We hear stories of police captures, narrow escapes, and Christian encounters from all over China from these teams. It's good to get fellowship every few months from these brave people.
Even though we are renting this house at a highly reduced rate, which we consider a favor from God, it is still a huge strain on the family's income. But we go in faith believing God will provide. It enables us to do so much more than back at our cramped apartment. Just recently, one team member asked to stay with us an extra week so she could see a bit more of China, and of course we were able to say yes. Wen Jie is able to find sanctuary and safety with us here. Most importantly it gives us a safe place to house Joshua until we get all the legal struggles of adoption behind us. We are privileged to be able to serve the Body of Christ like this in this huge city.
Stay tuned to hear more about Wen Jie and her experiences with us! Tomorrow, Lord willing, we youth plan to go hiking the Great Wall, so pray for safety for us! It's often dangerous especially in the un-kept areas.
